Box and cover
circular form with straight sides; the cover is decorated with a central medallion of two gilt elegant, feathery phoenixes, holding trailing stems in their mouths, surrounded by a gilt rope-twist band and enclosed by an outer frieze of twelve gilt birds in flight and a continuous scroll, all against a ring-punched ground; the sides of both the box and cover are similarly decorated with classic scrolls against a ring-punched ground
