pint bellied silver cann with shallow flared base and reeding at rim; shaped handle finished at bottom with plain oval disk slightly bent at lower edges; inscribed on bottom; block caps between crown and dagger in shaped shield to left of handle; this cann, made for Isaac and Elizabeth Storer Smith, was the gift of Abigail Edwards, widow of the silversmith, John Edwards, and mother of Isaac Smith and of Samuel Edward's wife; one of a pair; see correspondence in Accession file for Edwards-Carter relationship
