Court Robe

Court robe of medium blue k'ossu with swastika fret background in gold. Nine 5-clawed dragons in gold. Loose clouds, bats, peonies, and Buddhist symbols in shades of red, pink, blue, green, and soft violet. Conventional border of straight slanting stripes in body colors and gold threads. Tight clouds and rolling waves with cash emblems. Below border on sleeve a strip of blick blister-ribbed cotton (?). Cuffs and collar band of black k'ossu with swastika-fret in gold. Edging of brown and gold brocade. Robe slit front and back and lined with light blue satin damask. Note that this robe, like 42.8.28, has been shortened for a smaller wearer by taking a tuck at the waistline. Painted details.
