Sword guard (tsuba)
Sword guard, Choshu school, circular. Positive silhouette of peony bush in blossom, carved in low relief; three full blossoms on obverse and reverse. Pierced, carved, and engraved design; smooth rim; brown patina; gold inlays. Three blade holes.
