Sword guard (tsuba)
Sword guard, Bushu schools, circular. Low relief and engraved design of cherry blossoms and ferns; gold touches; flat surface. Carved, engraved, and pierced design; gold damascening on blossoms; brown patina; smooth edge. Three blade holes. Inscription on obverse; signed, Mashayoshu who lived in Bushu.
