Dragon Robe

Court robe of coarse, pale gold k'ossu with nine 5-clawed dragons in blue. Loose clouds, bats, and Buddhist symbols in shades of blue, green, red, rose, grey, and yellow. Note apple green quality of some of the greens. Conventional border of striaght slanting lines in shades of blue, green and ivory alternating with gold threads; tight cloud forms; rolling waves with Buddhist symbols. Below border on sleeve a strip of black twilled silk. Cuffs and collar band of blue and gold brocade with fretwork diaper and character medallion.
