chinese imperial brocade palace hanging made up of five strips of blue satin brocaded with a continuous row of five-clawed dragons. Each strip is doubled, so that the same design appears on front and back. The wide, central strips carry the dragon full face grasping the precious jewel. Dragons on the narrower strips in profile. Scattered clouds at top and in fields; eternal sea motif at bottom.
