Sword guard, School of Soten of Hikone, circular. High relief and openwork design showing two sages in a rocky landscape near a stream; figures facing obverse. Pierced, carved, engraved, and inlaid design; silver and copper inlays; brown patina; rim smooth. Three blade holes; one plugged.
