Dragon robe
Court robe, imperial (?), of embroidered blue sati with nine 5-clawed dragons in gold. In ground are scattered loose clouds, bats, long life characters, and Taoist symbols in shades of blue, green, red, pink, yellow and strong purple, which appears to begin with Chia Ch'ing. Conventional border of slightly wavy slanting stripes; small tight clouds; shallow area of rolling waves in which appear Taoist symbols , jui, and coral branches. Below border on sleeve a strip of blister-ribbed black silk. Cuffs and collar band of black satin embroidered with body designs. Edging of gold and black floral brocade. Embroidery chiefly in satin stitch. Couched and outline stitch also used. Coat slit at sides and lined with thin blue silk.
