Medallion Robe
Outer coat of very dark blue silk twill with eight large medallions containing stylized orchid plants and narcissus. Intervening spaces of robe and upper sleeve filled with single floral sprays; peony, plum blossom, narcissus etc. Colors shades of blue, green, red, yellow, pink, and rose. Conventional border of slightly wavy slanting stripes; cloud forms; rolling waves among which are scattered Buddhist symbols. Deep, wide cuffs of the k'ossu decorated with the medallions and floral sprays of body in smaller size and edged with the border design of the coat. Coat slit at back, opened all the way up front, and collarless. Lining of thin blue silk.
