Sword guard (tsuba)

Sword guard, circular. Flat design of emblems of happy augury; fan, scroll, hammer (?) and cymbals on obverse; sticks, cloves, artemesia leaf and others on reverse; smooth surface. Lacquered and painted with gilt; mother of pearl fragments in lacquer, brownish varnish (?); rim polished; chipped edges. Two blade holes.
