Sword guard (tsuba)
Sword guard, Nara school, oval disc. Striped surface with low relief fern leaves, shells, sardines (?) and leaves; character on reverse; edges bent up. Carved, engraved and inlaid design; gold and copper inlays. Green patins; smooth rim. Two blade holes.
