Sword guard (tsuba)
Sword guard, roughly quatrilobed. Low relief stirrups and mallow leaves on obverse; dipper on reverse; surface rough. Carved, engraved and inlaid design; gold and silver inlays; brown patina; varied rim. Three blade holes; one with gilt plug.
