Overcast stitching attaches front to back, cloth band at top

Striped lining. The face is pieced from red plain weave wool and black cotton twill fabric. The embroidery is worked in silk thread. The bag is backed with pieced red cotton flannel. The top edge of the back is bound in woven striped cotton. The edges of the bag are not finished, but simply overcast with white cotton thread. Chain stitch.
