Octagonal faience plate, typical of wares produced at the Hannong factory during its early period; decorated in the popular blue and white 'Oriental' fashion; patterns are carefully outlined with fine lines, then filled with a heavy layer of cobalt blue; stylized floral motifs form a solid band around rim; center is filled with an arrangement of foliage in a basket
