Toile, fragments, "Le Triomphe de Voltaire" design, printed in rose. In the center, Voltaire is crowned with laurel by Henri IV in armor, a reference to Voltaire's epic poem, the Henriade, widely acclaimed in France (published in London, 1728). To the left, an old man poles a boat; at right, a group of spectators under a tree and beyond, a baroque fountain, towers, arbors, amorini, and a mounted herald.
