Axle cap from chariot wheel, one of a pair
The decor is of entwined serpents on a granulated ground. The outer rim is adorned with a band of raised string pattern bound at intervals with plain, slanting bands. A feline mask appears at the end of the lynch pin, which is pierced at both ends for the passage of a lashing for the pin. Patina bright green.
