Dragon Robe
Robe of mulberry k'ossu with nine 5-clawed dragons in gold. In field; loose clouds, bats with double peach and cranes gripping double peach, in shades of blue, red, pink, and green. Double happiness characters in gold. Conventional border with straight slanting stripes; tight clouds; rolling waves in which appear Buddhist symbols and emblems of the Eight Precious Things. Olive green, yellow and purple appear in border section. Below border on sleeve a strip of dark blue silk damask of medallion design in two sections. Cuffs and collar band of grey black k'ossu with dragons clouds, bats, etc. Edging of black and gold meander fret brocade. Much painted detail. Embroidered dragons' eyes.
