side chair, one of a pair, Sheraton type, central splat contains palmette springing from a vase-shaped base, decorated with pendant husks; known as a 'rachel back,' front of seat serpentine shape; front legs show 'spade foot,' also known as a 'Marlborough leg' a characteristic (in England) only found in the late Georgian period, i.e., 1760-1800; material is mahogany according to curatorial files
