Butt Cap for Spear Haft
The head of a bird projects from the socket of this cap, which has a design of highly stylized birds inlaid with thin bands of gold and gold wire. The cap would have been used on such a weapon as that in Karlgren, Plate 101 (50.46.40). Patina grayed light green. Bronze with gold inlay.
