flattened waisted gourd with a rounded bottom, used as a cricket carrier or cage; the lip of the lid and rim of the gourd are both made of ivory; the body of the gourd has been decorated by a process called huo hua (firepainting) where a hot metal point scratches out the surface of the gourd; the decoration depicts dragons amidst swirling clouds against a backdrop of mountains
