Rug
Hearth Rug, Kulah. Both ends of red field resemble a prayer niche. The spandrels above each are light blue, and above each is a narrow panel with light tan ground. Seven border stripes of which the outer is the widest, and carries a pattern of poorly defined roses and leaves. Five narrow stripes of alternating tan and rose are patterned with tiny flowers in a row, inner stripe of differtent widths. Ends finished with frayed warp fringe. Sides finished with very tight selvedge. Ghiordes knot. Wool. Warp - two strands of cotton and one of wool twisted together. Woof cotton. Pile, wool.
