argyle, teapot-shaped, decorated with a line of beading around the body, spout and top, the argyle has a cylindrical tube in the center, into which was placed a heated iron bar to keep the gravy (which was surrounded by a cylinder) warm, this type of dish named after the fifth duke of Argyle
