Peach and Leaf Container, with Lid and Stand
Peach stone, carved green jade, an inscription incised in gold names the recipient, one Han Wu Ti, and the donor, Hsi Wong Mu, together with details describing the presentation. The peach was the symbol of long life to the Chinese. Enclosed in an old wood case, possibly of the period, carved in form of peach with leaves; old brocade lining.
