lamp, swinging whale oil, of cast brass; the baluster stem, screwed into the tray, supports a yoke from which an acorn-shaped font swings on pivots; circular, concave thumbpiece on the crest of a simple scroll handle which is riveted to the tray with three copper nails; this lamp could be either casrried or hung on the wall, this type is quite rare
