cup is carved into likeness of a head that leads down to a pointed chin; lip of the cup has hard edge that is raised from the head and carved in flowing lines; face has large, oval eyes, a small, round nose, and an O-shaped mouth; multiple curved lines run down from the bottom of the eyes to the jawline; there is a small circle carved in space between eye and ear on both sides of head; the hair is intricately carved in a grid pattern with a braided, rope-like pattern at back; neck attaches to round, flat base of cup and is adorned with a carved necklace (?); curved handle runs from base of head to base of neck; the entire piece is the dark-brown hue of the wood from which it is carved
